The main reason: conventional dehumidifiers cannot work friendly at such a low temperature, because the evaporator is cold in such low temperature. And it will naturally, then the dehumidifier will continue to automatically frost mode. When the temperature is low, the evaporator will be frosted, and the machine will stop dehumidifying and enter the defrosting mode. At this time, the evaporator will automatically begin to defrost, but the automatic defrost is slow in a low-temperature environment. The four-way valves can effectively reduce the defrosting time of the machine by changing the flow direction of the refrigerant.

General speaking 

When the dehumidifier is used, it will automatically defrost, at that time the compress is stopped. Use the ordinary dehumidifier at a low temperature, you will see it turn into the defrost mode frequently, and influence the dehumidifying speed.
